Over at the Faith and Family Live Blog, Danielle Bean is doing this project for the mom's at the site. It's called Small Successes, and this is what they do:
"It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that."
I thought I might try and participate because I think it will be fun to see what other moms are doing so that I can learn from them. Plus, it's a fun way for us all to share our blogs, and since I'm new to the blogging world, I'm really curious about the whole thing. So, even though I feel awkward about sharing my own successes, here goes:
1. I helped my husband tear down boards from the barn and build 3 raised garden beds for planting vegetables. Since then, the kids and I have tilled up one bed and filled it with top soil. I'm actually quite proud of this one...I've never been one who did a lot of manual labor like this, so it's good for me both spiritually and physically!
2. I started this blog a few days ago! I'm excited to be able to share and document my days so that my family will have a fun scrapbook to look through when we get older. And, I hope that I can get some great tips and advice from other Catholic women struggling to balance their faith, home, and work as wives & mothers =) Hopefully I can add to this small success by making my blog nice and pretty soon - it's pretty basic so far.
3. We have actually been consistent about praying the family Rosary a few times per week! I am probably most excited about this one because it is such a great thing for our family. I hope we actually stick with it through the years. We have 3 very young ones right now, so it's not always easy, but I'm glad to be able to do it 2 or 3 times a week. Ave Maria!!
What are your small successes this week?

Welcome to the small successes! What an adorable family you have!! :)
I'm getting so excited about our garden this year... but mostly planning for the harvest rather than working for the garden. Thanks for inspiring me to do some of the real labor.
#3 is a huge success. It's so important and so few people have the wherewithal and perseverance to do it (with or without little kids)... thanks for your example!
Welcome to the blogosphere!
I love your successes! I look forward to when we can plant garden beds that size! Good for you and your family saying the rosary - I'm still working on doing that regularly.
Congratulations!!!
Your blog is beautiful! I'm fairly new at this myself and mine is very basic too!
Welcome to blogging and small successes! I blog for the same reasons! I'm glad I'm not alone!
Thanks for the ideas for a future garden for my family!
